28 Nov 14. For today's macro/closeup I've selected the blossom of a white Christmas Cactus. I shot this one in Jan's flower room against a very distracting background because that is what was there. Opening the image in a graphics program, I severely cropped it, trying to get rid of as much of the background as possible, then added a curves adjustment layer for increasing the contrast, leaving it quit bright to make a high key (mostly brights or highlights) image. I then flattened it and converted it into the jpg you are seeing. That was it. Nikon D300s; 18 - 200; Aperture Priority; ISO 200; 1/125 sec @ f / 5.6.
