19 Mar 19 Here's another shot looking back towards the visitor center from the parking lot. This was taken just as we left and you'll note the sun just beginning to get into position to start what I had hoped would be a wonderful sunset series. But it wasn't to be. Nonetheless, we were still able to enjoy a brief moment of some dazzling light bouncing off the snow. All we needed to make it perfect would have been a small group of elk strolling along the ridge. Happy birthday Jennifer! This is straight from the camera. Layers of Fun Nikon D500; 18 - 200; Aperture Priority; ISO 200; 1/2000 sec @ f /11.
13 Mar 19 As we were driving along the road to the visitor's parking lot at the summit we noticed some interesting patterns in the snow along the sides of the roadway. Never did find out what specifically was making the design in the snow although it obviously has to be some form of snow removal equipment. I'll leave it up to you to decide exactly what was used, and while you are doing so you can also enjoy of view of the Olympics. This was shot just as we were departing and along with the slowly sun setting behind us a few nice clouds were moving in. As it turned out it was a spectacular sunset but of course we didn't get to witness it. IF I did my work right the cloud on the left should display a little 3-D effect. Other than cropping and a small amount of dodging and burning, this is what the camera recorded. Guess Nikon D500; 18 - 200; Aperture Priority; ISO 200; 1/1000 sec @ f /11.
