27 Feb 14. Cold 3 : dave 0 so another short narrative for today. It being theatrical Thursday I bring you a creative image, only today it really isn't creative on my end of the camera. Our largest local nursery sells yard art as well as plants, and this year it appears that they are featuring chickens. This is a shot of the back end of one of the roosters standing out in front of the main building that I thought rather photogenic. I've painted out with black some of the distractions on the right, hopefully without messing things up, and cropped off a small portion on the left. Otherwise, right out of the camera. 28 Feb 14. Cold 4 dave 0 so another short narrative. A close up of a branch of Pussy Willow and on your screen it should be larger than life size so the screen presentation could be considered macro. This perhaps is more like what you would normally encounter. I considered removing the bit of branch above the top bud but once having done so it didn't look "right," so I left it as it was. I increased both the detail and saturation a very small amount on the plant, and more so on the background. Otherwise, this is basically how it looked in the nursery. Nikon D300s; 18 - 200; Aperture Priority; ISO 200; 1/60 sec @ f / 9 with fill flash.
