28 Dec 16. It just wouldn't be Christmas without a shot of Christmas lights. The local community of Kingston, where we get the ferry to cross to the other side (east) of Puget Sound, is festively decorated every Christmas starting on Black Friday and continuing until the 3rd or 4th of January. This year they added a few more decorations and I guess that's something they do each year although this year was the first time I noticed things being different. Our neighbors whose dog you know, Mini, has their boat moored in the harbor and each year they decorate it right smartly. This year was the first time I really took a look at it and under Jan's instruction took a few shots. On the bow of the boat is an inflatable Snoopy but I think they should have an inflatable Mini. I was going to make the switch but time ran out and I didn't quite get there. The marina is a bit crowded resulting in lots of stuff between the sea wall and the boats, so I had to remove a lot of stuff and rebuild several portions of Mini's boat. Mini was to be the next step. With luck next year I'll have Mini on the prow.
I straightened the base image, removed and lot of garbage and then rebuilt the boat, painting out the background clutter with black paint. Nikon D300s; 18 - 200; Aperture Priority; ISO 640; 1sec @ f /11 on a tripod.
