01 Nov 16. For any of you who may not have followed that about which I was babbling yesterday, today's submission should be self explanatory. The subject of yesterday's conversation is dead center in this image and is obviously a young bull elk, perhaps 3 or 4 years of age. What was really interesting to me as I was taking this series of mages was that no one joined me. Now it is almost a rule in Yellowstone that if a vehicle pulls off the road and stops that every passing vehicle must also stop, then have the occupants get out, start yakking, and get in the way. On this occasion one, just one, car stopped, took a look, apparently not seeing anything of interest, and drove off. That was it, not another vehicle stopped to ruin the shoot! My lucky day!! And before anyone comments on the horizon, note that the anglers, trees, and elk are straight. It is as it actually is. Not much more can be said about this shot that wasn't mentioned yesterday.
Other than the conversion to B&W, this is straight out of the camera. Nikon D300s; 18 - 200; Aperture Priority; ISO 400; 1/640 sec @ f / 8.
