17 Feb 12. As you stroll (walk, run, skip, skate board, whatever your preference) along the Malecon you encounter numerous individuals, like the sandman, who provide you with something unusual to observe, and some of them are quite creative, as I'm sure you found the sandman. But whereas the sandman was just an individual sitting on a bench in an interesting outfit, there are others striking a pose that is seemingly impossible. Of these we saw two in particular that really got our attention and I recorded them both. For today we look at an angel supporting himself on a blade, more accurately, a sword. Perhaps this is one of the angels that drove Adam and Eve out of Eden, hard to know, but in any event it is even harder to ascertain exactly how this angel is supporting himself. I have an idea as to what is being done, and you can likely come up with an idea or two of your own, but the illusion of him supporting himself by simply holding onto the hilt of his sword is pretty realistic, even more so in person. And should you get really close in an attempt to discern how it is accomplished, he doesn't acknowledge that you are near. A very effective display, especially so the turquoise and silver sword. ISO 200; 1/500 sec @ f / 7.1.
