11 Aug 11. It is coming around to the time of year that the wild flowers at Mt Rainier should start pushing through the snow and making a presence. Last year the third week in August had them at their prime, as this image will attest, at least for Lupine. This year's weather has been very different, with one of the largest and lingering snow packs in several decades. As such, I'm beginning to wonder when we will be able to get up there to photograph the flowers. Jan leaves in a couple of weeks to go visit new grand daughter Svea for a 3 week stay; since that stay coincides with wild flower season on the Mountains, my plan is to exploit that time to maximize the opportunities, should they occur this year at all. If not, we'll just have to use some more of last year's collection, like this one. ISO 400; 1/400 sec @ f / 20.
