09 Aug. If I were to pick a single color with respect to flowers, I believe it would have to be the color purple. It would seem to my eye that flowers of this hue are the most interesting from a design standpoint of all the flowers. While I realize that such an observation is probably not supportable, I nonetheless find myself gravitating to purplish flowers more than any other color. I'm not certain I'm aware of it at the time of capture, but when looking at them on the screen it has become very obvious that the purple varieties have some of the most interesting designs, in addition to a very pleasing color. Today's selection might, with a little imagination, remind you of fireworks, the more expensive kind that consist of more than just a single color. Although the elegance of this blossom is in its simplicity, the supporting stalk and leaves provide great and pleasing contrast, not to mention a bit of repetition of theme in the spikes protruding from the sides of the leaves. All that is missing from this shot is a colorful pollinating insect. ISO 200; 1/640 sec @ f / 8. Hope you enjoy, dave
